So there are few things more pretentious than writing about yourself, but here we go. Rather than write a 3rd person Bob Dole rant here, I’ll just give you the quick rundown of the story thus-far:matt-apps-skateboarding-big-frontside-air-circa-2002-4-seasons-skatepark-madison-wi.jpg

  • A product of the 70’s, I was born in the Lake Michigan town of Sheboygan, WI
  • When I was 9, my parents bought and ran Grand Valley Campground (from 1982-1994) in a little town, population 346, called Kingston, WI I went to high-school in Markesan, WI, where I was more interested in skateboarding than anything else
  • After high-school, I went to college at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Awesome school, great time!
  • From there, you can look at my resume or my linkedin to see my professional history…
  • In 2004, I got married!
  • In 2006, got my MBA, again from UW Madison

Hobbies - I tend to bounce around doing some/one/all of these:

  • Photography - Probably the most interesting thing on the site here is the my photgraphy.
  • Skateboarding - Was once sponsored by the now defunct Flying Fish skateshop in Madison, WI. I haven’t turned in my board yet, but I unfortunately don’t skake much anymore. I’ll put a montage video together soon…
  • Music - UW Marching Band in college and In and out of ska bands in the late 90’s (anklebiters, Wall-to-Wall Sextet, even a reggae band called International Connection). Now I’m just a critic.
  • Computers and technology - I’ve always been interested in technology and computers. Check some of my tech reviews.
  • Poker - As ‘online’ as I am, I don’t play online. Just at friends houses for fun. Well, and for $ too. I’ll probably post some interesting hands on here.

Here are my links to some Social Networking stuff. You probably know what this all is already:
